This Is BILL CHRASTIL
Bill Chrastil is a full-time musician and entertainer whose career has taken him across the Midwest and beyond. In addition to being a talented songwriter and producer, Bill is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, performing on guitar, piano, bass guitar, drums, and harmonica.
Throughout his career, Bill has received numerous honors and awards. In Branson, Missouri, he earned accolades including Best Gospel CD of the Year, Best Vocal Impressionist of the Year, and Best Horizon Show of the Year. He has also been inducted into both the Nebraska and South Dakota Country Music Halls of Fame and is a proud member of the Nashville Songwriters Association.
Bill's roots run deep in Lincoln, Nebraska. His father, Sgt. Warren Chrastil, served the Lincoln Police Department for 23 years, including 16 years as a motorcycle officer. Bill often shares a memorable story from his junior year of high school when he skipped a couple of classes for a joyride, only to be caught by his father and escorted back to school in a police procession. Needless to say, Bill never skipped school again.
His father's service extended beyond law enforcement. Sgt. Chrastil also served in the United States Air Force, instilling in Bill the values of respect, honor, and service. Those lessons remain with him today, inspiring Bill to pay tribute during his performances to police officers, firefighters, first responders, veterans, and the brave men and women currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.
When Bill is not touring, he dedicates his time to performing at assisted living facilities, care centers, and retirement communities. He believes that everyone deserves the joy of live music, especially those who may no longer be able to travel for entertainment. Bringing smiles, memories, and music to these residents has become one of the most rewarding parts of his career.
As the Fremont Friendship Center once said:
"It is a rare person who can take care of business while taking care of the heart."
